IN-TUNE A CAPPELLA

In-tune with Christ both spiritually and vocally!

The Ambassadors officially launched itself to the age group of 16-22 year olds of Nairobi central SDA Church on the 30th of August 2008 in a rather eventful ceremony at the basement of the Church. In attendance were the teens class members and some youth and Ms. Onimbo...or as she prefers to be called quite humbly, Linda, she who took us through the ecstaticly wonderful camp meeting of the year.

Admittedly, in the wake of the challenges and motivation which Pastor Micah Campbell left us with, we were effectively spurned to start our own action group, havinr realised the potential we as the youth have to shape the future of the Church and aid in the Ministry of the word to others out there who don't know what they are missing from what the Church has to offer those under its wings. In-Tune rellishes the Sabbath each and every week and the opportunity of the fellowship which it offers.

We went through the morning sabbath school and sermon well and prepared ourselves for the launch which was to take place in the afternoon, including the elections and a blueprint of the task ahead for the Ambassadors. At 2.15pm sharp, we were all settled in the basement and began a praise and worship session. Before things got to a perfect start, In-Tune was called out to the Old Sanctuary because we were to sing for the Adventist Youth (AY) as the opeing special item. Atthis point, let me say the presentation went well with our singning three songs and then hurriedly rtacing back to the basement for the launch.

Linda Onimbo had already launched it with the help of the interim Chairman David Mokaya at the helm with her. They were going through a presentation session as well and in which In-Tune was requested to sing again...Afterward, a half-house AMO Junior performed and we went straight into the elections. The Chair went in unopposed and a vice were elected, together with a treasurer, secretary and heads of the four pillars of the Ambassadors;
Action-Music
Reaction-Bible Study
Convergence-Social
Divergence-Outreach

Having closed up and being a success launch, we prayed and headed back to the AY to close up their session with a closing item. That effectively rapped up our presentations for the wonderful sabbath. Little did we know of the confrontation that would ensue outside as we gathered for a social session.

It all began with Simeon, who coincidentally is on holiday and back at Central Church. He called me over to have a 'word or two' with me, of which I sensed what it would be but obliged. I dragged Ted Okoth along with me and found Anderson already in deep conversation with him. Soon the rest of the guys; Joseph, George, Bernard, Jamo and Craig were dragged in, Edwin and Ronnie having already left before.
To tell you exactly what transpired during the meeting would be to air dirty laundry in public and therefore I will not. I just thank God that the matters at hand were quashed and solved and In-Tune as a whole got the opportunity to sort out issues and rise above our obstacles to forge on in Ministry.

About this blog

Keep In Tune in your prayers as we struggle to reform ourselves after the mini-breakup we had. Some of our members left the group, but we've worked around it all and are getting back on our feet. We are continuing with our schools ministry and outreach and welcome and contributions and suggestions you may have...

Sabato

Well...here are the lyrics to the song 'Sabato'. In-Tune's purely original piece;

(prelude humming)

Mola wangu, nakusifu siku ya leo,
usifiwe milele duniani kote,
twakupenda na mioyo yetu yote,
usifiwe...,Mungu wetu..., hasa Sabato...

chorus
siku teule... siku takatifu..., iliyotakaswa...
sabato*2
Rabuka Rabana Moliwa*2
twakupenda twakusifu kila siku...

chorus*2

(humming by base*2)
(humming in unison)
