IN-TUNE A CAPPELLA

In-tune with Christ both spiritually and vocally!

Its not every day you get to see In-Tune being invited to be the main choir during Divine Service at Nairobi Central...but what do you know?... That privilege was ours on the 20th of October as we once again tasted the front podium next to the pulpit. In a one word summary?-Heart stopping, though those are actually two words. And as the guys later said...for once I was the one who messed things up...if thats even possible considering, thank God, an almost flawless execution of the song 'Higher Perspectives'.

Okay before I jump the gun...oops is that a permitted expression? anyway moving on swiftly...back to the onset of the children's Sabbath which turned out to be more successful than originally anticipated. I say this because, if you ask Ted, the turnout in the morning was wanting. I dont mean the Divine Service but any time before ten. But as God's will goes, everything happens in its own time. The children's choir kids looked so cute and cuddly in their red, black and white uniforms... After a casual morning of practice and sabbath school, the butterflies started to settle in our stomachs,... well not mine but those of the nervous guys such as George and Edwin...at this point Chris was being his usual highly critical self and Ted was ever so reassuring with his quotes. Joseph, wallowing in the miasma of perplexia was satisfactorily quiet. Miracles do actually happen? We did our ordinances of prayer and fellowship before we went in for the main service whilst seated at the fore front.

Believe you me, you have no idea how uncomfortable it is to have two thousand pairs of eyes endlessly directed your way, but we got through it...despite the fact that the cheerful preacher..the Conference President, kept on referring to us as a substitute for the youth! You could almost grasp the tension the clouded us guys. The sermon, primarily about joy-its description and benefits to the human race, was well brought forth as the Pastor and President is always articulate and interesting.

He gave us a thought provoking acronym which we are going to share with you as he did with us. What does joy stand for?;

J- Jesus first
O- Others second
Y- Yourself third and last

Snazzy huh?
In case it passes you by, JOY should come from service to others and not the other way around. Do you love others the same way you love yourself? I am sure you have heard this a thousand times but really think about it!

Thank God George did not dose off this time! (sorry George, your cat is out of the bag!), but he can dose through a hurricane! And just so I dont forget, the pic above was taken during the Pathfinders' Day which I will fill you in on shortly. The fellows were attired in our brand new uniform...cool huh?Well thats all I have time for now...please leave your comments, and for the In-Tuners...please hold back on destructive ones,..Simeon? God Bless.

About this blog

Keep In Tune in your prayers as we struggle to reform ourselves after the mini-breakup we had. Some of our members left the group, but we've worked around it all and are getting back on our feet. We are continuing with our schools ministry and outreach and welcome and contributions and suggestions you may have...

Sabato

Well...here are the lyrics to the song 'Sabato'. In-Tune's purely original piece;

(prelude humming)

Mola wangu, nakusifu siku ya leo,
usifiwe milele duniani kote,
twakupenda na mioyo yetu yote,
usifiwe...,Mungu wetu..., hasa Sabato...

chorus
siku teule... siku takatifu..., iliyotakaswa...
sabato*2
Rabuka Rabana Moliwa*2
twakupenda twakusifu kila siku...

chorus*2

(humming by base*2)
(humming in unison)
