The biggest day finally not just arrived, but landed in superb pomp and color. The entire pulpit of Nairobi Central Church was revitalized and juiced up for the two-week satellite broadcast to the rest of the world. The customary blue of the front area gave way to subtle beige, the characteristic blue logo of Safari Africa and pots and plants scattered all round giving it the true ambience of an African Safari.
The uniforms which In-Tune had been sourcing seriously for, were finally bought by the trio of Edwin, Simeon and Kevin. I distinctly remember the threats Chris had dished out to the purchasers that the clad had to be 'worth their money' else compensation would have to be underway. Despite the logic in that(no offence Chris) hehehe, everyone was pleased-Thank God. At the time of this update, George had still not yet given me the photos of the uniform which I had wished to display. Anyway, to make due with words, the shirts are African- beige in color, with some unique and distinctly quiet print at the collar boe and around the neck. The guys wore black trousers and shoes to make a satisfactory combination on our day of presentation.
Simeon brought numeroous complaints with him from Baraton-inclusive of uniform choice and presentation day and time. Now come on Simeon, pessimism is so outdated! We thank God however, that He took care of Simeon throughout his semester so far from us. He came back revitalised with fresh ideas and what we term as psyche(energy). At the onset, we were supposed to sing the song 'Sabato' in the evening, on Saturday the 15th, but this was not to be. We were pulled up to 11.00am then lastly given a confirmation the day before that the performance was during Sabbath School-in the morning at 8.30am. So much for the oversleepers!-Edwin and James are you there?
In-Tuners reached impeccably on time, I am always amazed at their dedication, and everything preceeded smoothly. We sang the songs 'Mighty is our God' and 'Glory and Honour'. As for comments on our performance, I will rightfully leave to you, our readers. Bigups to the brother group- For Him, who Simeon tells us are our ardent fans in Baraton. May God continue to bless you in your similar ministries.
Giving our KCSE-sitters a break became the priority after this day that we had planned for from the beginning of the year, and so In-Tune has taken recess until the end of the month of October. This does not mean that things will not be happening though! Its just that we will take a leave of absence from public performances and outreach. Keep us in your prayers, as our sponsors, understandably, did not come through for us and we purchased the uniforms with our own cash(keep in mind most of us are students and dependants). A surprise is in the pipeline however for the month of December so keep it here!
